New Hope Corporation Limited and all other entities within the New Hope group of companies (New Hope) are bound by the Privacy Act 1988 (Cth) and the National Privacy Principles contained within that Act.

New Hope collects personal information directly from individuals or from external organisations. New Hope uses that personal information mainly for regulatory compliance, conducting its mining and mining related operations and managing and ensuring the fitness and safety of persons at places where New Hope conducts mining and mining related operations.

New Hope will use and disclose the information which it has collected in accordance with the Privacy Act and National Privacy Principles or as otherwise required by law. Where necessary and practicable, New Hope will obtain the consent of persons from whom it collects personal, health or sensitive information prior to the use or disclosure of the information which it has collected.

Where New Hope contracts out various activities to external suppliers and/or service providers, appropriate contractual protection will be gained from the external supplier and/or service provider in relation to any personal, health or sensitive information they may handle in the course of supplying those services.
